Plan Your First Visit
We try to limit the number of distractions during our services and here are some helpful hints to assist you. We hope VMCC exceeds your expectations and that you will come back again and again and make this your home church.
- VMCC has great children's programming. We encourage you to drop off your child to their age appropriate class. Your children are free to stay with you. If they do become a distraction, feel free to exit to the foyer and continue watching the service on one of the TV's.
- Please turn off all pagers, cell phones, blackberries, ipods, iphones...you get the idea.
- To be considerate of others, we do ask that you remain in the worship center until the end of the service. Do not get up early to beat the traffic, etc. And who knows, maybe God has something that will impact you at the very end of the service.
- If you are a first-time guest, we do not expect you to participate in the offering. VMCC depends on the giving of its members and regular attenders to keep the ministry growing.
- Stop by the Information Table and pick up a DVD of the service. This is our gift to first-time guests.
Top 10 Hints to make your first visit to VMCC fun and stress-free
1. Where do I turn on Kentucky Ave? If you are heading northbound on Kentucky Ave, you can pull right into our lot. If you are heading southbound on Kentucky Ave, make a u-turn just past our facility and come back up. It is a pain but your effort will be rewarded.
2. Parking?...when you wind around our entry way you will see ample parking. There are 8 spots up front in the middle that are designated as "Guest Parking". Please feel free to use one of these spots. There are no surprises and you are not made to stand out by parking here, it is just for your convenience.
3. Children's Ministry?...if you have children from birth - 6th grade, we encourage you to enter through the main doors marked "Family Life Center". Once you enter you can walk straight back to the "KID ZONE" and there will be people and signs to direct you to the class for your child. All classes are age appropriate.
4. Children's Check-in?...for all children from birth - 5th grade we have a sign-in system. You will fill out a card with your child's name and receive a number tag that will be with your child and another one given to you. When the services are over, you must turn in that number tag to get your child. This is our best security measure and it is for the benefit of you and your child.
5. What To Wear?...we do not have a dress code at VMCC. We have people in jeans and t-shirts and we have people in suits and dresses and about everything in between. We care a lot more about your being here then how you look.
6. Worship Services?...Both of our services are geared to impact you with relevant teaching and connections that will make a difference in your life. Our 9:00 AM service has a great blend of the traditional songs of the church with piano and organ accompaniment. Our 10:45 AM service has a modern and contemporary feel with full band and music like you might hear on Top 40 radio. Aside from the music, every thing else is identical in both services.
7. Questions??? ...Find one of our greeters and they will be happy to give you additional information about the church or give you a short tour of our facility. Ask them any questions you may have. If they do not have the answers, they will find someone that does to help you out.
8. Expectations?...None. As our guest, you will not be singled out and we do not expect you to give a dime to the church. You can remain anonymous or meet as many people as you would like. We do hope that you will come back for a number of weeks to get a full feel for what VMCC offers and how it can impact your life.
9. Our Gift To You...on your way out we encourage you to stop by our Information Table and pick up a complementary copy of a DVD of the service. This is our gift for first-time visitors.
10. Come As You Are...VMCC is a warm and inviting place and we want YOU to come and be yourself and fit right in.
